Witch-Crafting: Shadow Box Ancestor Altars
Sunday, October 18 · Drop in anytime 1–6 PM
Herb & Smudge Apothecary
October is when the veil thins, and there's no better time to set a place for the ones who came before you. This month at Witch-Crafting, we're building shadow box ancestor altars: a whole little parlor behind glass, with vintage-style wallpaper and a gallery wall of gilded frames.
Fill those frames with your beloved dead, whoever that means to you. Grandparents, great-aunts, the mentor who taught you to read tea leaves, the chosen family who raised you, the cat who ran the house for nineteen years. Your ancestors, your altar, your rules. We'll talk about ways to welcome them in, what to leave on that little table, and how to keep the connection going long after Samhain has passed.
It's a whole altar that hangs on a wall or sits on a shelf, so it fits in any home, any practice, any amount of space you've got.
Bring with you (optional): photos of your ancestors. I will have a scanner and a printer to produce pictures to put in your frames on site. No photos handy? No problem. Leave the frames open and fill them at home when you're ready.
NOTE: Base project includes the shadow box, up to 12 frames, wallpaper, rug and picture scanning/ printing. To keep this project affordable for everyone additional items will be offered as add-ons at my cost as follows:
• Table + plant or stack of books $10 = $50 for total project
• Table, plant or books, and wall clock $25 = $65 for total project
• Bookcase and books $15 = $55 for total project
• Grandfather clock $15 = $55 for total project
To ensure you get the pieces you want for your project, you MUST register ahead of time and choose the option that includes the add ons you want. You are also welcome to bring your own dollhouse furniture or decor to add to your shadow box but all items must be less than 1.5 inches wide to fit in the shadow box
I will have a small selection of addons available to purchase that day on a first come, first served basis.
What's always true about Witch-Crafting:

• All experience levels welcome
• One completed magical craft to take home
Good witchcraft conversation included at no extra charge
Drop in whenever it suits you between 1 and 6, and give yourself enough time to finish your piece. Your ancestors are waiting✨
